Frederiksal Hestestald

redigeretIMG_2742.jpg

The horse stable near Frederiksdal Castle, together with the other buildings around the castle, is an important part of the overall and well-preserved historic manor environment. Even today, the building is actively used as a riding school. The task was that we should at once preserve the historic barn and make it usable in use. Thus, in connection with the replacement of a large quantity of rotten timber, extra cast iron windows were also manufactured and a barn door was established in the gable. Some of the old stalls were carefully dismantled and moved around, so that the stalls were fewer in return for a larger area for the stabled horses. The restoration in this project thus meant, in addition to the replacement of rotten timber, that a historic horse stable, which did not comply with current standards for horse keeping and activity, regained its right of use.
